Computing

Intent

At St Anthony's we believe that computing is an integral part of learning and life in our modern and ever developing world. We want our children to become competent users of computing technology and have the confidence to embrace the ever changing technology of the modern world and use the benefits of this technology to its fullest capacity. We want to instil good computing skills, encourage children to explore, analyse, exchange and present information as well as empower our children to stay safe in the virtual world.

At St Anthony’s we have a strong focus on internet safety. Children are taught throughout the year about the various things we can do to keep ourselves safe whilst online. We promote this by participating in the online safety week each academic year, our school computing safety council, who meet once a half term, and outside agencies, such as PCSOs and the police cyber safety unit, coming into school and teaching our children more about keeping safe online. We also work closely with our Online Safety link Academy Councillor who liaises regularly with staff and visits school.

Here is the long term plan we follow at St Anthony's.

Please also see our online safety and safeguarding page, which can be found here.

Here it explains, in more detail, how we keep children safe whilst online at St Anthony's. It also explains how you can keep your child safe online at home.
